Ko Lan Island Beach
Located a short distance from Pattaya and Jomtien, Ko Lan — commonly known as Coral Island — is a natural island getaway in the Gulf of Thailand that draws visitors from across the world seeking cleaner waters and a more relaxed pace than the mainland. The island is well regarded for its natural scenery and offers a genuine contrast to the bustle of central Pattaya, making it a popular day trip destination for both tourists and locals alike. Visitors can expect a lively yet natural beach environment with plenty to keep them occupied. Bicycle rentals are available at around 300 baht per day, allowing travellers to explore the island at their own pace. Water activities and beach facilities are on offer, and most vendors and locals communicate in English. Beachside meals are available, though dining can run on the pricier side. Shower facilities are also available near the beach for a small fee of around 50 baht. Getting there is straightforward and affordable. A Baht Bus from Jomtien costs approximately 30 baht, and the island charges a small entry fee — 100 baht for foreign visitors and 50 baht for Thai nationals. Those who prefer a quieter experience should aim to arrive early in the morning, as the island can get busy later in the day. Ko Lan is best suited to travellers looking for a half-day or full-day nature excursion without straying too far from Pattaya.

Visitor Reviews
My favourite place in Thailand. Should go in early morning if you want enjoy over there.
A little distance from Jomtien, but worth it. Can get a BathBus (white colour) 30 bath get you there. Entry cost is 100 bth for foreigners 50 bth for Thais. Can get a nit expensive great meals, whilst you relaxing on the beach with umbrellas above. No extra charges for the beach sittings as long as you order something like drinks or whatever. Great place to swim there. Definitely must visit & I guarantee you will be back there.
When you go to Pattaya, Ko Lan is the one of the best options to go and explore about the nature. Everyone can speak English and you can rent bike for 300B per day/hour. There are also so many activities that you can do such as under water walking, riding banana boats and etc. The water polution is less than at Pattaya and you can stay there over night too. Such a great place for pre wedding and proposals for q budget plan.
Tips for Visiting Beaches & Islands
Check Monsoon Seasons
The Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) has rough seas from May to October. The Gulf coast (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) is roughest from October to December. Plan your island-hopping around these windows.
Snorkel Gear Is Cheap to Buy
Rental gear is often scratched and ill-fitting. Buy a decent mask and snorkel at a Tesco Lotus or Big C for 300–500 THB — cheaper than two days of rentals and much more hygienic.
Book Ferries on 12Go.Asia
The 12Go platform lets you compare ferry operators, times, and prices between islands. Book a day or two ahead in high season. Avoid the cheapest operators if reviews mention safety concerns.
