Sam Phraya Beach
Sam Phraya Beach sits within Sam Roi Yot National Park in Kui Buri, Prachuap Khiri Khan, offering a noticeably quieter alternative to the busier stretches of coastline further north. The beach is relatively long and can be almost entirely empty on weekdays, making it a genuine escape for those who prefer solitude over services. Facilities include toilets, a restaurant, picnic tables, and a campground — turning left from the entrance leads to these amenities, while the beach itself extends in both directions along the shore. Monkeys are occasionally spotted along the beach, adding to the natural, unhurried character of the setting. Prospective visitors should be aware that water quality has been inconsistent, with some visitors reporting significant plastic waste and murky sea conditions that made swimming unappealing. Those visiting primarily to walk the shore, enjoy the scenery, or camp overnight are likely to have a more satisfying experience than those coming specifically to swim. A practical note: entry to Sam Phraya Beach is included in the standard 200 THB Sam Roi Yot National Park entrance fee, so no separate ticket is required. The beach is open daily from 8am to 8pm. As the location is rural and not well-served by public transport, arranging a private vehicle is strongly recommended. Bringing mosquito repellent is advised, particularly for those staying into the evening or camping overnight.

Visitor Reviews
Very pretty beach, and very quiet. Note that the entry fee to this beach is included in the 200 thb entrance fee for all of Sam Roi Yot National Park. Many shady places to rest, with beautiful scenery. There are nice looking bungalows for rent, or you can camp in a tent. There is a restaurant on site. Toilets are very clean. Although I only spent a few hours here, it seemed to me like a very peaceful place to spend all day, or even stay for a few days. Be advised that no alcohol is allowed in the national park.
Very beautiful beach Calm, we were the only people at the beach It’s quite long. From the entrance if your turn left you will find toilets, restaurant, picnic tables, campground. If your turn right - empty beach with palm trees and cows.
Great beach to walk, a few monkeys ambling around! Friendly staff and restaurant. National Park tourist, secure and clean. Bring mosquitoe repellent if camping! Relaxing! 👍

Tips for Visiting Beaches & Islands
Check Monsoon Seasons
The Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) has rough seas from May to October. The Gulf coast (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) is roughest from October to December. Plan your island-hopping around these windows.
Snorkel Gear Is Cheap to Buy
Rental gear is often scratched and ill-fitting. Buy a decent mask and snorkel at a Tesco Lotus or Big C for 300–500 THB — cheaper than two days of rentals and much more hygienic.
Book Ferries on 12Go.Asia
The 12Go platform lets you compare ferry operators, times, and prices between islands. Book a day or two ahead in high season. Avoid the cheapest operators if reviews mention safety concerns.
