Hua Hin Beach
Stretching along the Gulf of Thailand in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, Hua Hin Beach is one of central Thailand's most accessible and well-established seaside destinations. The beach is particularly well-suited to families and beginner swimmers, with shallow water extending roughly 100 metres from shore. The sand is fairly white with a slightly coarse texture, and large rocks scattered along sections of the beach add natural character — visitors often spot locals and tourists sunning themselves on these formations. Seaside restaurants line the beachfront, offering a relaxed spot to eat, drink, and enjoy the sea breeze, though prices at hotel-adjacent venues tend to run higher than average. As a popular destination close to Bangkok, Hua Hin Beach draws a steady crowd, though it maintains a quieter, more laid-back atmosphere compared to busier Thai beach towns. Lounge chairs are available for hire, and water sports and other amenities are accessible nearby. Occasional litter has been noted by visitors, so expectations should be set accordingly — this is a pleasant, convenient beach rather than a remote paradise. Practically speaking, parking can be limited during busy periods; a useful tip from regular visitors is to park at the nearby Market Village Mall and walk to the beach in around five minutes. Tidal fluctuations are worth monitoring, particularly in December when high tides can reach the seawall and reduce walkable beach space. Checking a tide chart before visiting will help make the most of the shoreline.

Visitor Reviews
In December high tide in some areas can come right up to the seawall so if you’re like us and like to walk on the beach, pick your time and check the weather app to know tidal times. We visited in time for the jazz festival which turned out to be a spectacular evening at the beach.
Beautiful beach. Quiet and serene. You can eat at one of the seaside restaurants, catch a cool breeze and enjoy a cold beer or cocktail. The best sight is people sunning themselves on the huge rocks. Lol Real wyldlife!
Nice beach for swimming. Solid 4 out of 5. Not deep for at least 100 meters /300 feet in, so any beginner or kids will love it. Sand is pretty white , slightly course. The rocks randomly speckled in the water add a great feel and ambiance. Not a lot of eating or sun beds places at this spot that I could see but you can walk 5 mins inland and there are dozens of restaurants and bars. Deed quiet after dark.

Tips for Visiting Beaches & Islands
Check Monsoon Seasons
The Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) has rough seas from May to October. The Gulf coast (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) is roughest from October to December. Plan your island-hopping around these windows.
Snorkel Gear Is Cheap to Buy
Rental gear is often scratched and ill-fitting. Buy a decent mask and snorkel at a Tesco Lotus or Big C for 300–500 THB — cheaper than two days of rentals and much more hygienic.
Book Ferries on 12Go.Asia
The 12Go platform lets you compare ferry operators, times, and prices between islands. Book a day or two ahead in high season. Avoid the cheapest operators if reviews mention safety concerns.
