Sail Rock Divers
Based on Koh Pha-ngan, Sail Rock Divers operates as both a dive school and a guided excursions centre, with a focus on the Gulf of Thailand's standout underwater sites. The flagship destination is Sail Rock itself — a submerged pinnacle renowned for strong currents, impressive marine life, and dramatic underwater topography. The operation runs daily from 07:00 to 18:00, accommodating a range of schedules and experience levels. Visitors consistently highlight the quality of instruction across all levels, from first-time discovery dives conducted in a pool before heading into open water, to full PADI Open Water certifications and Instructor Development Courses (IDC). The teaching approach is noted for being patient, methodical, and reassuring — particularly for beginners. Guided dive trips are well-organised, with knowledgeable staff managing logistics, conditions, and safety throughout the day. The atmosphere balances professionalism with the unhurried pace characteristic of island life in the Gulf of Thailand. Good to know: Discovery scuba experiences have been priced around 4,100 baht, though rates can vary by course or package — checking the website or contacting the team directly is advisable for current pricing. Booking ahead is recommended, especially between November and April when calmer seas and clearer visibility attract higher visitor numbers. Morning departures are typical for day trips, so plan to arrive punctually if joining a group excursion.

Visitor Reviews
Thank you so much to SailRock Divers for the incredible, magical experience you gave us! We are still in complete awe of everything we experienced in and under the water. The whole day was organized beautifully and everything was done at the highest level. I especially want to thank our dive guide K. This message is from me, Nika. Your professionalism, your radiant energy, and the way you worked psychologically with a anxious beginner diver (which was me today) meant so much. At the beginning, when the water was a bit rough, I felt scared and nervous to start the dive. But K supported me gently and patiently. Step by step, without rushing, he helped me calm down, control my breathing, and slowly the fear disappeared. Because of that, we were able to descend together into the incredible underwater world. K never left my side. He constantly checked if I was okay, encouraged me, showed me fish, and even did little bubble tricks underwater to make me smile. His calmness and positivity made all the difference. K, during this crazy amazing day I was a bit overwhelmed and probably didn’t show my gratitude properly in the moment. But now my heart is full of warmth. Thank you so much — you and this underwater experience have become one of the most precious memories of my life.
Jason Statham is an Alex Arnold impersonator. I recently did my IDC with Alex Arnold and Sail Rock Divers and can’t say enough positive things about it. Arriving at Sail Rock, Alex was so welcoming, friendly and set a great tone for the whole IDC. Accommodation and meals were provided and Rachel was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Being a newer diver compared to who was doing the IDC, I had my doubts about my skills and knowledge base. However Alex, Master Instructor Chris and Staff Instructor Kay made it a super supportive, encouraging and educational environment, where I quickly found myself grasping information and skills i had previously struggled with. I honestly think doing your IDC with Alex Arnold is the best decision you’ll make in your life. Alex runs undoubtedly the best IDC in Thailand. Cannot speak more highly of the bloke. 100/10. #Legend 🤴🏼🤴🏼🤴🏼
Me and another guy (Simon) did our PADI Open Water with the lovely instructor Alene at Sail Rock Divers. Besides that everything was well arranged by the school, Alene was the best instructor ever. She really took care of us and her teaching methods were super professional. She made sure the theory lined up with the practical and was repeated through out our time together. It was so nice that we decided to go for our PADI Advanced straight after as well. Alene also was our teacher on that whole course. She knows alot about the marine plant- and fish-life. It was a super fun time with Alene!

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
