Clock Tower

4.5(37 reviews)

The Clock Tower is a well-known historical landmark situated at the entrance to Bali Hai Pier in south Pattaya, making it one of the city's more recognisable symbols. Its central position near the pier has made it a natural gathering point for both locals and visitors, and it often appears alongside the nearby Pattaya letters sign, which draws travellers looking to capture a moment in the city. In practice, the Clock Tower functions as more than a decorative landmark. It marks the departure point for day tours to Koh Larn, also known as Coral Island, meaning the surrounding area sees a steady flow of tourists heading out on island excursions. The atmosphere can be lively and busy, particularly on weekends and during peak season, though wait times at the pier itself are generally manageable. Good to know: the area around the Clock Tower is accessible around the clock, so those looking to photograph the landmark without the crowds may find early mornings or weekday visits more comfortable. Visitors combining a stop here with a Koh Larn day trip should arrive with their tour arrangements already confirmed, as the pier area can become congested during peak departure times.

Visitor Reviews

Nice symbol at Pattaya City. The Clock tower is located at the entry to Pier that you will come to join the day tour Koh Larn. Also the letters symbol Pattaya is nearby. You can easily check-in with it. Unfortunately that some letters were fallen, so just AYA city now.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture

Dress Modestly

Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.

Mind Your Feet

Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.

Ask Before Photographing

Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
